Purifying.
It's been scientifically proven that sage burning or "smudging" removes pathogenic bacteria from the air. It's been used in rituals for centuries to clear the air of negative energy. I spray a little of this light scent in my meditation space, in preparation for sitting. Very soothing, and much less overwhelming than smudging or incense. Peace-inducing!
